The Hurricanes will be joined by the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons, Mount Allison Mounties, Dal AC Rams and UKC Blue Devils for the two-day competition, the second ACAA event of the season.
The first event was held on November 9 in Church Point, Nova Scotia; the Hurricanes were registered for the event but elected not to travel due to poor weather conditions.
The Dal AC Rams were victorious in the event with the Mounties, Dragons and Blue Devils following.
Head coach, Emma Hughes, is excited to get the season started.
“The team has been practicing very hard for their first tournament of the year and we are excited to see how much the hard work has paid off. I’m proud off all of them and the work they have put in so far this year.”
The Hurricanes have 13 players (six women, seven men) competing this weekend across ten categories; here is how they will lineup:
Women’s singles A: Kathrine McEwen
Women’s singles B: Isabelle Saunders
Women’s doubles A: Teanna Letkeman and Brittney Lessard
Women’s doubles B: Meredith Harrison and Bethany Parkhouse
Men’s singles A: Josh Watkins
Men’s singles B: Craig McAskill
Men’s doubles A: Brandon Chaisson and Brody Crann
Men’s doubles B: Josh Doiron and Avery Woodworth
Mixed A: Jonah Wilton and Kathrine McEwen
Mixed B: Josh Watkins and Isabelle Saunders
Action will get underway at 12pm on Saturday with play resuming on Sunday at 9am.
